Alpha
Delta Phi was established by Samuel Eells as a literary fraternity in
1832, making it the fourth-oldest Greek letter society in the U.S. In
the words of Samuel Eells, "It must be national and universal
in all its adaptations, so as not merely to cultivate a taste for
literature or furnish the mind with knowledge but with a true
philosophical spirit looking to the entire man, so as to develop the
whole being -- moral, social and intellectual."
Founded in 2006, the Middlesex Chapter of Alpha Delta Phi is composed of academically motivated students of Brandeis University who are dedicated to preserving gentlemanly ideals without sacrificing fun or the fraternal experience.
